Mori Riyo is the winner of the Miss Universe 2007. She is from Japan.
Mori is born on December 20, 1986 in Shizuoka, Japan. She is only the second Japanese woman to hold the Miss Universe title, after Kojima Akiko in 1959. Mori is a dance instructor who wants to build a dance school.
Riyo Mori became Miss Universe beating out Brazil, Venezuela, Korea, and USA.
She's the second Japanese Miss Universe in 48 years.
The first Miss Universe winner from Japan was Akiko Kojima in 1959.
Riyo Mori, 森 理世 a 20-year-old ballet dancer from Shizuoka Prefecture has been selected as the 2007 Miss Universe Japan. She will represent Japan in the Miss Universe competition to be held in Mexico at the end of May. The runner up in last Thursday’s selection was Rei Hamada 濱田玲, while third place went to 25-year-old model Akiko Chubachi 中鉢明子.
The Miss Universe pagaent has become more popular in Japan since the very beautiful Kurara Chibana (left) took second place in the 2006 contest.
