Lee Soo Young is mostly known for her ballads. People are attracted to her soft, calm, and soothing style of singing. After debuting in 1999, she's risen to the top of the Korean music scene.

Lee Soo Young's hit debut "I Believe" catapulted her into the top artists. In 1995 she won a contest singing Yoo Jae Ha's "sarang hah kee ddae moon eh". Soon after, many established musicians were willing to help her with the creation of her first album. The most influential help coming from Park Young Chan.

Lee Soo Young's song was an instant hit all around Asia because of the oriental-ish qualities. Many artists remade the song in their own native tongue. Her second album was just as good. Ever relentless, she promoted her second album right after finishing it (released February 2001).
