As one of oldest Japanese bikini idols in Japan, Aki has appeared in various men's magazines such as Sabra. She often appears on Japanese television shows as a guest. Men in Japan refer her as the "Angel of Japan".

Hoshino Aki had been a model from the time she was on Petit Seven. After landing roles in dramas Sanshimaitanteidan and Ai no Gekijou, she continued to act in various other dramas. Later, her work as a gravure idol was broadcast on late-night TV. By now Aki was 25, but even so she has been nicknamed "The Eternal Girl" for her young looks. Her work in gravure increased heavily in 2004.
Aki Hoshino is already 32 this year, but that doesn't stop her from being one of the most popular Japanese idol.
