Hello! Project - the members

Hello! Project (ハロー!プロジェクト), often shortened to H!P, is the name for a collection of female groups and artists all produced by Tsunku, aof Sharam Q. Morning Musume is the main group of Hello! Project, with a number of Morning Musume ex-members forming the majority of the solo artists in H!P. Besides the core groups and solo artists that form H!P's line-up, various special units are formed by mixing these groups and solo artists. Shuffle units, usually formed by shuffling all the H!P members into three temporary units, were formed once a year but since 2006 the idea has been dropped.

The group of Hello! Project is managed by the Up-Front Agency. Almost all Hello! Project artists' recordings are published by Up-Front Works on either the zetima, PICCOLO TOWN or hachama record labels. But Iida Kaori's Mediterranean styled works are released under the Chichukai label and Maeda Yuki's under the Rice Music label. Country Musume's older work was released on the Potato Label, Coconuts Musume's older works were originally released on the Sony record label, Sheki-Dol's first singles were released on SPREE RECORDS and Heike Michiyo's older works on Warner Music Japan, but they eventually all moved to zetima. As far as J-pop with multiple members is concerned, the girls from Morning Musume no doubt can be regarded as Japan's national treasure. During the Hello! Project 2006 Summer – Wonderful Hearts Land top attractions affiliated to the aforementioned pop family including W's Tsuji Nozomi, the seductive trio Byuden as well as Berryz Kobo, and 7-member group Cu-te unfolded their vocal magic once more. The electrifying atmosphere that started on 9 July in Nagoya, spread to the venue in Osaka, and last but not least to the National Yoyogi Stadium in Tokyo, is omni-present on this release that promises to please all avid fans.

The One Shot Deals only released one or two singles and were never mentioned again, so it can be assumed they're finished. As for the Uncertain category, it depends of the group. Coconuts Musume and Country Musume consist of only one member each (Ayaka and Satoda Mai, respectively) and need more members to continue functioning as a group. Minimoni and Petitmoni are "on hiatus" which means they are on a permanent hold until Tsunku decides to revive them. The status of GAM is unknown, due to Fujimoto Miki's scandal in May 2007.

Also the start of the concert we get to see Lin Lin take the centre of the stage in between Yossie and Mikitty, although without knowing what we already know it looks all perfectly innocent, but perhaps this was a subtle hint of what was coming?

The highlights of the whole DVD for me was Nono performances, after all that has gone on recently it's good to see her performing, I must admit it's been awhile since I saw her performing in a concert and it's good to see that she's as good as ever. Also the last song on the DVD, Aruiteru, is something special, everyone joins in and it sounds great, the amount of voices singing the chorus really gives it a punch. This DVD is a good warm up for the following two DVDs and if you're a big fan of either Berryz of C-ute then you're really going to love it.
